A man from East Dry River, Port of Spain was arrested yesterday, after he was pursued by officers through downtown, Port of Spain.

The incident occurred while officers of the Inter Agency Task Force (IATF) Strike Team were on foot and mobile patrol duty between the hours of 9 am and 1 pm yesterday.

Around 11 am, the victim approached them on Henry Street. The victim reported that on returning to his company vehicle he observed a man closing the front passenger door which had previously been locked. The victim also indicated the direction the man had fled to, to the officers.

On further investigation, the officers observed a man fitting the description given by the victim. Upon seeing the officers, the suspect ran across the street and into a nearby mall. Officers pursued the suspect and he was apprehended a short time later on Frederick Street.

Investigations are ongoing.
