Cops Uncover Third Set Of Human Remains At Heights Of Aripo

By Newsroom

A massive search of the forested area at the Heights of Aripo on Sunday led to the discovery of a third set of human remains, hinting that the area may have been used as a frequent dumping ground for criminals looking to get rid of a body.

Sunday’s search, which was led by police and soldiers and comprised civilian hunters, was conducted three days after kidnap and murder victim Andrea Bharatt was found off a precipice at the same location on Thursday.

The search began at 8am, with the body being discovered some six hours later at around 2pm.

On Thursday, just one day after the Bharatt’s body was discovered, the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service reported that the second set of human remains, along with animal remains, had been found at the site- not far from where Bharatt’s body was located.

Investigations into the incidents are continuing.
