A couple was brutally mudered in the Arouca area late last night. According to some media reports the murders were due to an ambush.

The couple, 24-year-old Daniel Camacho and his girlfriend Shenelle Edwards, 22 and an 18-year-old woman were all travelling in a gold Nissan Almera, on Hindustan Extension, Arouca, around 10 pm when it is believed that three gunmen got out of a Honda Civic that was parked nearby and shot at their car.

The three men made good their escape.

It is also believed that Special Evidence Recovery Unit (SERU) found 39 spent 5.56 shells and two live rounds of ammunition. The woman was taken to hospital where she is stable.

Investogations are ongoing.
