Couple granted $750 000 bail after being charged for guns and drugs

Tushaun Nicholas, 26, and Elisa Olivero Diaz, 27, have been granted bail after police found two guns, ammunition, cocaine and marijuana in their home last Monday. Olivero is believed to be a bank employee.

They appeared before Magistrate Adrian Darmanie in the Tunapuna Magistrates’ Court yesterday charged with trafficking in arms and ammunition, possession of arms and ammunition, and trafficking in narcotics.

Nicholas was granted $600,000 bail, while Diaz, was granted $150,000 bail.
According to the TTPS: “Members of the North-Eastern Division Task Force (NEDTF), spearheaded by Senior Supt. Phillip and ASP Roger Alexander, executed a search warrant at a house at Agostini Street, St Joseph around 7.30 pm on Monday 6th January 2020. There, the police found and seized one Revolver, one Beretta pistol with 17 rounds of 9mm ammunition, 350 grammes of cocaine, and 790 grammes of marijuana.”
The case was adjourned to 6th February, 2020.
