Covid-19 Backlash: No Foreigners allowed in TT for 14 days

Only nationals of Trinidad and Tobago will be allowed into the country for the next 14 days. All Bars will be closed.

Gatherings beyond 25  should be avoided at all cost- except in unavoidable circumstances

Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley made the announcement a short while ago after an emergency cabinet meeting at the Diplomatic Centre, in Port of Spain.

  ‘We are basically disconnecting ourselves from the international community for the next 14 days.

“We have to protect ourselves from a source that is outside of Trinidad and Tobago, “ the Prime Minister said when he made the announcement while adding that “exemptions will come from the Ministry of Health.”

“These will include CARPHA Personnel, Health personnel and similar essential personnel,”  the Prime Minister said explaining that they will be allowed to enter the country once the exemption is granted by the Ministry of Health working with the Ministry of National Security.
