COVID-19: Caribbean Countries To Benefit From €8 Million European Union Grant

The European Union has pledged  €8 million to help the Caribbean in its war against COVID-19.

The funds will be channeled through the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA), with the goal of improving detection, surveillance, prevention and control.

Specifically, focus will be placed on increasing laboratory testing, as well as the purchase of masks and other forms of personal protective equipment (PPE).

The European Union has also given a promise to finance treatment and vaccines, once both become available.
