COVID-19 Death Toll Reaches 45 As Two More Patients Die, 79 New Cases Recorded

The Ministry of Health provides the following update: 

The Ministry of Health regrets to inform the public that there are two additional COVID-19 related deaths. The persons are an elderly female with co-morbidities and an adult male. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 45.

Seventy-nine (79) additional persons have tested positive for COVID -19.

It should be noted that, of the seventy-nine (79) COVID-19 positive cases reported, seven (7) of these refer to persons who were housed at the Police Training Academy and have not been in circulation within the national community. These individuals will be transferred to a public health facility for relevant medical care.  All established protocols have been implemented.

The seventy-nine (79) positive cases reported above show results from samples taken during the period August 31st to September 10th, 2020. Therefore, this figure is NOT representative of the positive cases over the last 24 hours only.

Seven (7) persons have been discharged.

COVID-19 Positive Patients in Hospital – (109)

One thousand six hundred and sixty-three (1,663) patients have been home isolated under the continuous monitoring of the respective County Medical Officer Health (CMOH) offices.

Seventy – nine (79) new patients will be processed for admission at the discretion of the CMOHs.
