Cultural Icon Dennis ‘Sprangalang’ Hall Has Died

By Newsroom

Trinidad and Tobago has lost one of its most treasured cultural icons with the passing of Dennis ‘Sprangalang’ Hall.

Confirmation of the veteran’s passing came on Friday evening, exactly one week after he was admitted to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex.

Hall celebrated his 71st birthday just two days ago on Wednesday.

On Monday, rumors began circulating that the media and theatre stalwart had died, however his relatives quickly confirmed that he was still alive at the time, and called for continued prayers for his recovery.

Hall, best known for his role as a comedian, was also a historian, actor, producer and singer/composer, dedicating most of his career to promoting Trinidad and Tobago’s culture- and more specifically, highlighting the importance of knowing and preserving our stories.
