Official Statement from the Trinidad and Tobago Prison Service:

The Trinidad and Tobago Prison Service advises that Mr. Deopersad Ramoutar has assumed the position of Commissioner of Prisons (Ag.), following the departure of Mr. Dennis Pulchan who proceeded on Pre-Retirement Leave with effect from Wednesday February 23, 2022.

Mr. Ramoutar brings to the position, over thirty-three (33) years of knowledge and committed service, geared towards the mandates of the Prison Service, having served assiduously in all departments with significant input in the Welfare Department. He is a trained certified mediator and a conflict management expert.

The Trinidad and Tobago Prison Service welcomes and supports Mr. Deopersad Ramoutar in his new portfolio, as the Organization continues to make prolific strides towards establishment of corrections status.
