By Newsroom

Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh says contrary to Opposition claims, outpatient clinics are not closed.

He addressed the matter while speaking in the Parliament on Friday as he began his contribution to the Budget debate.

“Madame Speaker, I checked with the Chief Medical Officer…I checked with the CEOS…Our outpatient clinics are not closed. Why would you say that?” Deyalsingh asked, in reference to the claim which was made earlier in the budget debate.

He explained the changes made due to the pandemic.

“What is happening, we are migrating because of COVID, to an enhanced telemedicine platform. People are being called and those who need to come in are being given appointments to come in. So please, let’s not play politics. our clinics are not closed,” he repeated.
