Dr Dre Hospitalized After Brain Aneurysm

Dr. Dre was rushed to the ICU on Monday after suffering a brain aneurysm.

 

Peter Paterno, one of his attorneys, confirmed the music producer’s hospitalization.

 

The music mogul remains at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, and he released a statement on Tuesday night thanking his family, friends and fans for their well-wishes. 

 

“I’m doing great and getting excellent care from my medical team. I will be out of the hospital and back home soon. Shout out to all the great medical professionals at Cedars. One Love!!”

 

Following the news, a flood of celebrities took to Twitter to send positive energy to Dre, wishing him a speedy recovery.

 

Several music artists and athletes such as Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg and LeBron James offered prayers for his recovery.

 

Ice Cube, an original member of their group, N.W.A., tweeted a photo of them both Tuesday evening with the message: “Send your love and prayers to the homie Dr. Dre.”

 

The 55-year-old music executive, whose real name is Andre Young, was an original member of N.W.A. and is a music producer and entrepreneur. The six-time Grammy award winner is credited with producing some of the biggest names in hip hop, including Snoop Dogg, Eminem, The Game and Kendrick Lamar.

 

He also co-founded Beats Electronics, a brand that was acquired by Apple in 2014 for $3 billion.
