Duke: PDP Ready For “Rematch” As New THA Election Date Announced

By Newsroom

Campaigning is heating up in Tobago, as December 6th has been declared as the date for fresh elections to break the deadlock in the Tobago House of Assembly.

The new election date was announced by Chief Secretary Ancil Dennis on Wednesday, and will see the People’s National Movement and the Progressive Democratic Patriots contesting all 15 electoral districts which are now up for grabs.

Dubbing it the “rematch”, PDP political leader Watson Duke says he believes Tobagonians are ready to “tip the scale” in his party’s favor this time around, when fresh THA elections are held.

Duke said his party would focus on the  “bread and butter” issues  affecting Tobagonians, and if elected, would make it a point to govern differently than the PNM.
