Dylan Carter splashes his way to nine gold medals at the FINA Swimming World Cup

Swimmer Dylan Carter totally dominated the FINA Swimming World Cup short course series in Indiana over the weekend after he claimed his ninth gold medal of 2022. Dylan claimed the men’s 50-metre butterfly at the third and final leg of the World Cup at The IU Natatorium in Indianapolis.

Previously, Carter claimed the gold medal in the Men’s 50m backstroke after he won in 22.72 seconds finishing ahead of USA multiple Olympic champion Ryan Murphy who clocked 22.99 and Justin Ress who finished third in 23.07.

His efforts saw him being crowned the top male individual athlete after he won triple gold in the men’s 50m backstroke, freestyle and butterfly at each stage of the three-leg series.

Not only is he now ranked at the top of the overall World Cup rankings with 172.6 points but he also instantly earned an additional US$100,000 jackpot as well. Carter’s performance saw him finish the series US$130,000 richer.
