Three people were killed in an early morning road traffic accident along the Uriah Butler Highway, after the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle. 

Around 5am on Sunday, driver Michael Ashton, 36, was proceeding North along the UBH in the vicinity Massy Tracmac when he lost control of the vehicle and ran into the back of a Dump truck which was proceeding in the same direction.

He and the other two victims, Crystal Baboolal, 28, of Cane Farm Arouca, Michael Walters, 20, of Laventille road Laventille died on impact at the scene.

The driver of the dump truck managed to escape unharmed.
