Education Ministry Receives First Set Of Laptop Donations Through “Adopt-A-School” Initiative

Official Statement from the Ministry of Education:

Students of four educational institutions will benefit from the first donation of devices through the Adopt-A-School Initiative.

On Friday 11th September, 2020 at the Education Towers Port of Spain, Dr. the Honourable Nyan Gadsby-Dolly met with representatives of the Women in Action for the Needy and Destitute (WAND) organization to receive on behalf of the Ministry, twenty-five (25) devices. The laptop computers will be distributed to Chinapoo Government Primary School, Febeau Government Primary School, Couva Children’s Home and Crisis Nursery and Morvant Anglican Primary School.

Joined by principals of the Febeau Government Primary and Morvant Anglican Primary Schools in a brief handover ceremony, the Minister thanked WAND for their support in this undertaking and underscored the critical role that corporate Trinidad and Tobago now plays in ensuring that our nation’s youth are not left behind. Twenty-five (25) additional entities have expressed interest to support the Adopt-A-School Initiative, where many more students will be recipients of the technology that will aid in their Home Based Learning over the next few weeks.
