Jamaica dominated the Women’s 100m at Saturday’s Eugene Diamond league, securing the top three scores of the race.

Olympic champion Elaine Thompson-Herah, fresh off a historic 100m and 200m win in Tokyo, finished first in 10.51 seconds.

It is a new personal record for Thompson-Herah, second only to American Florence Griffith-Joyner’s 1988 record of 10.49 secs.

Fellow Jamaicans Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Shericka Jackson were second and third respectively.

American Sha’Carri Richardson- who talked a big game prior to the race- managed to finish last.

Undaunted, the 21 year old, who missed her Tokyo debut after being disqualified for marijuana use, expressed contentment with the score.

“It was a great return back to the sport,” the 21-year-old said in an interview post race.

“I wanted to be able to come and perform. Having the month off, dealing with all I had to deal with, I’m not upset with myself at all.

“This is one race, I’m not done. You know what I’m capable of. Count me out if you want to, because I’m here to stay.”
