Debate is underway in the House of Representatives at this time to approve the nomination of Erla Christopher to the position of Police Commissioner.

Ms. Christopher has been acting in the post since December, taking over from Mc Donald Jacob who went and vacation and subsequently retired from the TTPS in January.

Her name was submitted to the Office of the President by the Police Service Commission this week.

The country’s last substantive CoP was Gary Griffith from 2018-2021.
