Thousands of Facebook and Instagram users have reported issues accessing their social apps today.

According to Downdetector, from around 11 am AST, there’s been a spike in reports of outages on social media platforms.

Facebook users have had the most issues with logins, representing 69 per cent of the thousands of reports received by Downdetector.

Both platforms are owned by Meta, which also owns WhatsApp, Threads and other products and services. So, far no issues have been reported on Meta’s other services.
