Fifty Seven Year Old Man Charged with Mayaro Beach House Break Ins

The TTPS have arrested a 57-year-old man suspected of being the person behind several reports of Beach House Breaking and Larceny in Mayaro. He appeared in court yesterday, November 14 and was denied bail.

According to the TTPS:

MICHEAL HEMINEZ, unemployed, of St Ann’s Road West, Mayaro, was denied bail by Magistrate Vandenberg Bailey on three counts of Beach House Breaking and Larceny and one count of Possession of Cocaine after being charged by Cpl Guerra, PC Meighoo and PC Mohammed and WPC Mentor, respectively.

HEMINEZ will reappear before the court on November 24th, 2023, to answer the charges. The accused was arrested on November 10th by detectives attached to the Mayaro Criminal Investigations Department (CID), who were pursuing numerous leads into three similar reports in their district within the last three months.

In one of the reports, at 6.30 am on November 6th, a woman returned to her vacation house located in Mayaro where she discovered a wooden door to the eastern side of the house broken open, and on checking, discovered almost all the appliances, utensils and furniture missing.

The following day, between 9 pm on November 7th and 9 am on November 8th, officers of the Mayaro CID, led by Sgt (Ag.) Mohammed continued a surveillance exercise on a property being occupied by a male suspect.

Police later secured a search warrant and raided the property during which they allegedly recovered several stolen appliances and items from the reports. The man was also searched and found to be in Possession of One Gramme of Cocaine.

He was later charged with the offences and the recovered items were processed by crime scene experts to be returned to their owners.
