A police chase through Woodbrook and St Clair ended with five men arrested after police found a nine-millimetre gun and four rounds of live ammunition in their car.

It was around 1:00 am on Thursday night when officers of the Port-of-Spain Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and Stolen Vehicles Squad were conducting an exercise at a Carnival Party when they received information about five male occupants in a white Tiida.

  The officers attempted to intercept the vehicle in the vicinity of St. Clair Avenue, however, the driver failed to stop.

  Moments later, the officers were able to bring the vehicle to a stop along Brabant Street, Woodbrook. Upon searching the vehicle, the officers found a 9.mm Astra Pistol with four live rounds and one spent shell.
