Five Arrested After Trincity Robbery

Five men were arrested a short while after officers mounted a quick response to a report of a robbery in the Trincity on Wednesday 1st November 2023.

According to the TTPS, around 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Cpl Andrews and Cpl Joseph were on mobile patrol along the Churchill Roosevelt Highway, in the vicinity of Trincity Mall when they received a report of a robbery incident. The report indicated that four men robbed a woman of an undisclosed sum of cash at a car park of a pharmacy in the Trincity area.

As they tried to escape the scene, their vehicle crashed at the entrance of the said car park. The men then allegedly ran off south in the direction of the Trincity Mall.

However, officers sprang into action and were able to obtain useful information about the suspects. The officers scoured the mall in search of the suspects, and they found the two suspects hiding. They were arrested and handed over to the Arouca Police.

The officers continued their investigations, and the other suspects were subsequently arrested.
This arrest came hours after the Arouca Police District, rolled out their ‘Christmas Crime Plan’ which focuses on commercial shopping areas malls and residential areas by applying strategic responses to targeted crimes.

Enquiries are continuing.
