Five Arrested in the Southern Division as Several Stolen Cars Recovered

Five people have been arrested and several motor vehicles which were reported stolen, recovered, following an intelligence-led exercise conducted in the Southern Division yesterday.

According to the TTPS: The exercise, was conducted during the period 4 pm on Sunday 23rd April, 2023 to 9 pm, on Monday 24th April, 2023 in Area East of the Southern Division, by Task Force officers.

During the exercise, officers executed search warrants at several garages, including one in the Princes Town district. 

There, the officers recovered one black Honda City motor vehicle which was reported stolen in the Carenage district, one black and grey Honda City motor vehicle which was reported stolen from the Arouca district, one blue Hyundai H100 chassis which appeared to be tampered with and one silver Nissan Caravan motor vehicle bearing a false registration plate and reported stolen in the Freeport district.

Five male suspects, of Princes Town and Marabella, were arrested in connection with the finds. Meanwhile, in the Eastern Division, officers of the Gang and Intelligence Unit conducted an intelligence-led exercise between 5 am and 7:30 am, yesterday in the Sangre Grande district.

During the exercise, surveillance was conducted of a particular location and with the assistance of Task Force officers, investigators proceeded to Machak Trace, where four persons were held relative to gang enquiries.

One of the suspects is also wanted in connection with several homicide investigations in the Northern Division. Investigations are ongoing into the above matters.
