Former Commissioner Gary Griffith hits back at PM Keith Rowley

By Shirvan Williams

The tension between former Top CoP, Gary Griffith and Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley, continues to grow and Griffith has hit back at the PM with some strong accusations and harsh words.

Following a statement made by PM Rowley in which he stated that Griffith was the worst decision he made as PM, Griffith has hit back by saying, “No, Keith Rowley. The biggest mistake Trinidad and Tobago made in 60 years was selecting you as Prime Minister and we will ensure that is changed very soon.”

He added:

“No, Keith Rowley. Your mistake is that you wanted and you hoped that Gary Griffith would be a puppet and take directions from a government. I had no intention to do so. So you have disregarded the crime statistics. You have disregarded the public trust and confidence in the police. You have disregarded what the country wants and who the country wanted as a commissioner of police.”

Griffith also levelled other accusations against PM Rowley including that a very senior Government minister had harassed him constantly to provide explosives for a friend in Tobago and another person, presumably from the government, also harassed him in an effort to obtain a special firearm for himself to kill pigs.
