Four Arrested Following Bar Brawl and Stolen Firearm

Four men, including a Venezuelan, were arrested yesterday April 7 following a bar brawl. According to the TTPS a stolen firearm, and a stolen Samsung phone were reported at a Sports Bar in Barrackpore.

According to police reports, an armed Estate Constable was on duty at the bar, it is alleged an argument ensued with a man of East Indian descent in the washroom area of the bar. The argument escalated into a physical altercation, and it is alleged that three men joined the physical altercation in which the Estate Constable was beaten.

One of the men took the Estate Constable’s firearm and Samsung cell phone, and then they drove off in a Frontier vehicle.

Officers of the Southern Division responded to the report, and a coordinated exercise was led by Senior Superintendent Smith, ASP Bertie, Inspector Ramlogan, and Sergeant Joseph.

As a result of the exercise, the Frontier vehicle was intercepted and searched by members of the Southern Division Task Force in the vicinity of Picton Recreational Ground, Papourie Road. The men who occupied the vehicle, ages range from 29 years to 36 years. They were arrested and the firearm was recovered.
