Officers of the TTPS have arrested four men following a report of robbery with aggravation/robbery with violence. Officers are also said to have found and seized a firearm and ammunition during anticrime exercises yesterday.
According to TTPS, around 2:17 pm on April 29th, 2024, a man was conducting sales at a bar located at Mon Plasir Road and River Road Cunupia, when he was approached by two men, one armed with a firearm, who pointed it in the direction of the victim and announced a robbery.
The said suspects proceeded to relieve the victim of six bottles of Hennessy, two 170ml bottles of puncheon rum, and ten packs of cigarettes, along with $1,336.00 TT.
They then went outside the bar, approached another victim, and relieved him of one gold chain and one gold bera, valued at approximately $30,000.00 TT. Two other men were also relieved of their jewellery. One victim was shot in his leg,
Based on intelligence information, relative to the report, officers of the Central Division Gang Unit and Central Division Task Force, Area North, intercepted a white Toyota Axio with four suspects ages, 38, 29 and two 19-year-olds.
A search of the vehicle was conducted and officers found the following items: One Black metal firearm containing one magazine with ten rounds of ammunition and one spent shell, six bottles of Hennessy, two 170ml bottles of puncheon rum, ten packs of cigarettes and $1,336.00 TT. The suspects were arrested and conveyed to the police station where they are assisting officers with investigations.
