Fourteen Covid-19 deaths reported by the Ministry of Health in its update for today puts the total number of deaths from the virus at 761.
Despite recording 215 new cases, the number of active cases has fallen below 8,000 to 7,954- as 395 patients have recovered within the last 24 hours.
There are now 45,567 people fully vaccinated against the virus, with 179,631 already receiving their first shot.
Hospital occupancy now stands at 419, down from 465 the previous day.
Members of the public are reminded that they must adhere to the ‘New Normal’ recommendations and take the following personal health measures to protect themselves and their loved ones from COVID-19:
–Wear a mask over your nose and mouth when you go out in public
–Keep your distance from others (6 feet)
–Stay home if you are ill
–Clean then sanitize surfaces (e.g. tabletops, door knobs and cell phones)
–Wash your hands often with soap and water or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer
-Cough into a tissue or into the crook of your elbow
-Avoid touching your face
