Gary Vows To Tackle “Democratic Dictatorship” As High Court Grants Injunction In FUL Matter

By Newsroom

Responding to the High Court’s ruling on Tuesday which granted him an injunction to block Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley from laying the Firearms Users License audit report in the Parliament, former Police Commissioner Gary Griffith said the decision “reconfirms my commitment to the ongoing fight against what can only be construed as democratic dictatorship.”

“It must be noted as a matter of comfort, that our judicial system remains an avenue for redress, and remedy, when it can be construed that many other supposedly independent bodies in our Nation appear to be penetrable to political influence,” Griffith said in a statement.

The former Top Cop further referenced a statement by the Attorney General’s Office which vowed that “an immediate appeal is being filed urgently to correct errors made by this ruling,” calling the it “mind boggling”.

“It demonstrates either a lack of appreciation of what ‘due process’ relates to, or more disturbingly, a lack of appreciation of the edict of separation of powers. What also borders on comedic, is the AG’s assurance to the public that the matter will be appealed. I am certain, the public he refers to can be identified on one hand, in fact, one individual, for whom this specific ruling has caused to halt in his track,” Griffith said.

He added: “As I conclude, what I will assure, is that I will continue to unearth, and reveal the disturbing actions, use of, and abuse of independent institutions and resources of those appearing to be in opposition to this administration, as this not only impacts myself, but has the potential to impact every single citizen of this country who may, at some point be seen in opposition to what can be construed as creeping dictatorship.”
