Less than 24 hours after announcing a ban for retail membership stores such as PriceSmart, government has taken a decision to allow these stores to operate, but under specific restrictions.

Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister Stuart Young made the announcement during Friday’s Covid-19 press briefing. 

Such establishments must close at 8pm along with other essential services, and must only the facilitate the sale of necessary items such as food and water.

The sale of electronics is banned.

Young said the reversal was made after consultation with the relevant stakeholders.
