Health Minister: “Please, Don’t Congregate For Mother’s Day”

By Newsroom

“Mother’s Day 2021 is where you show love by staying away.”

This was the statement shared by Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh, as he urged the population not to engage in gatherings this coming Sunday, warning that such action could seriously hurt the fight to lower the spread of the Covid-19 virus.

“If we treat Mother as another excuse to gather at the home of out mothers, we may not have those mothers for Mother’s Day in 2022. Think twice. if you live with your mother, that’s okay, but don’t have gathering where all the children come, all the grandchildren come, all the uncles come, all the aunts come,” he pleaded.

“That will do a disservice to the healthcare system which is already burdened but the ultimate disservice will be to your mother,” the Minister said.
