How Do You Actually Collect Your Free LED Bulbs?

By Newsroom

Delivering on a promise made by Finance Minister Colm Imbert in last year’s budget presentation, the LED bulb distribution program has officially been launched, geared at distributing to households across the country.

At Monday’s launch of the program, Public Utilities Minister, Marvin Gonzales, said the initiative will reach about 400,000 households and is grounded in the government’s commitment to an energy-efficient future.

Customers will begin receiving their LED bulbs at their next visit to a T&TEC Service Centre to pay their electricity bill.

For customers who make their payments via any other platform, such as online or via direct salary deduction, an appointment must be booked to come in to collect the complimentary bulbs.

The LED bulbs will only be distributed to the person whose name is listed on the account- that person must therefore walk with an official form of identification to receive the bulbs, which have a two-year warranty.

Each household will receive four bulbs, according to T&TEC Chairman, Keith Sirju. In total some 1.6 million bulbs will be distributed.
