It will be known by Wednesday afternoon whether PNM internal elections will go ahead as planned for this weekend, as High Court Judge Devindra Rampersad  is due to rule in a lawsuit brought by Karen Nunez-Tesheira.

As it stands, the party’s internal election is scheduled to be held on November 26th & 27th and December 4th.

Arguing that the move to hold a three-day election process is against the party’s constitution, Nunez-Tesheira is seeking one of two outcomes: that the party’s internal election scheduled for this weekend and December 4 be held on one day in the customary way, or the granting of an interim order to postpone the election date pending the determination of the Claim.

The ruling will be handed down at 3:00pm, after which Nunez-Tesheira is expected to host a media conference.
