Hikers Join Search Efforts For Andrea

By Newsroom

Hikers were out as early as 6am on Tuesday morning, to assist law enforcement in their search for kidnap victim Andrea Bharatt.

Today marks day four of recovery efforts, after the woman was abducted while traveling to her home in Arima on Friday evening.

Five suspects between the ages of 20 to 30 remain in the custody of police, after being detained on Sunday.

As the nation joins the family of Andrea Bharatt in praying for her safe return, Top Cop Gary Griffith warns that the sharing of sensitive information surrounding the case could do more harm than good.

The Police Commissioner, who leads the case, noted in a statement on Monday that some of his officers had disseminated extremely sensitive details about their operations to the media, which in turn published the information online.

Griffith warned that such actions could potentially put the young woman in more danger.

Bharatt’s family says they are continuing in prayer for the return of their angel, and said they have already packed a hospital bag for her in faith that she will be found alive.
