Homicide Cops Receive Training Through Partnership Between TTPS & US Embassy

Thirty homicide officers have benefitted from a partnership between the TTPS and the United States Embassy here in T&T, which saw training being provided to officers in the areas of investigation, modern technology, evidencing material including DNA and ballistics analysis, as well as victim and offender profiling.

Acting Police Commissioner  Mc Donald Jacob told officers during the launch of Advance Homicide Investigations Training, that the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service is poised to tackle violent and organized crime, especially those related to gang activities.

The Commissioner added the training of officers is vital, as TTPS move to penetrate and dismantle criminal activities and remove violent crimes. He urged his officers to be proficient during the course as they have the full support of the TTPS to do their jobs

In a brief address to the participants, Charge d’Affaires Shante Moore said, this training is timely, as the United States would work with the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service to reduce violent crimes, and tackle the root causes of crime. The officers would benefit from utilizing effective investigate homicide strategies.

Certificates were presented to all participants.
