The homicide toll climbed to 158 this morning when the body of a man was discovered with a bullet wound to the head at Bell Piece Estate in Manzanilla.

Meanwhile, overnight, 57-year-old Aquie Persad was shot dead when bandits stormed his home at Welcome Road North, Cunupia.

Persad was also shot in the head.

Other family members who were home at the time managed to survive the ordeal without physical harm, after handing the robbers $25,000.
