By Newsroom

Damage assessments are still being conducted following a fatal fire which broke out at HDC’s Charford Court complex along Charlotte Street, Port of Spain late on Wednesday night.

Housing Minister Camille Robinson-Regis says officials are working with three families whose apartments were damaged to find a resolve in the shortest possible time.

“Officials from both the Health, Safety and Environment as well as the Social and Community Services Departments will visit the development today to conduct interviews and damage assessment and will work with the tenants who were affected in the adjacent apartments,” a statement from the HDC said.

The fire claimed the life of 67 year old Edward London.

A second victim, Joan Gibson, is still being treated for burns at the Port of Spain General Hospital.
