Jack Warner to take extradition case to the Privy Council

By Newsroom

Jack Warner has been granted permission by Justices Nolan Bereaux, Gregory Smith and Andre des Vignes to challenge the extradition proceedings which were brought against him to the Privy Council. The decision was handed down today at the Court of Appeal.

He is hoping to have the authority to proceed (ATP) which was signed in 2016 by Attorney General Faris Al-Rawi nullified. Warner will also challenge the legality of the Extradition Act as well as the treaty signed between this country and the US.

The court’s original decision was that the extradition treaty had not been shown to lack conformity and found that Warner’s case had no merit.
