Jamaica records significant spike in COVID-19 cases

Jamaica’s Minister of Health and Wellness, Dr Christopher Tufton has confirmed an additional 18 cases of the COVID-19 virus in Jamaica, bringing the total to 143. He said that the patients’ ages range from four years old to 56.

PM Andrew Holness announced that all business process outsourcing BPOs in Portmore have been ordered to close because the seven-day lockdown of the parish. The decision was made after 52 of Jamaica’s 125 COVID-19 cases were linked to the Alorica Portmore call centre.
