By Newsroom

People will be able to access the single dose Johnson and Johnson vaccine at all vaccination sites including health centres and drive-ins from Wednesday, as health officials ramp up efforts to get as many people fully vaccinated in the shortest possible time.

Appointments are not required for anyone wanting to receive the jab.

Latest statistics from the Ministry of Health show that since the start of the rollout of the Johnson and Johnson vaccines last Thursday, 1,776 people have been administered a dose.

This group will be considered fully vaccinated two weeks after taking the jab, given a second (booster) shot is not required.

Overall, Trinidad and Tobago has 509,516 people receiving at least a single Covid-19 vaccine, with 399,116 people fully inoculated, including the Johnson and Johnson grouping.
