Kamla: “PM Painting A False Picture Of Government’s Handling Of COVID-19”

By Newsroom

The United National Congress has labelled Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley as “confused” after his address on Saturday regarding government’s position on COVID-19.

“Keith Rowley once again sought to distract the nation rather than offering any new solutions or support for the thousands of businesses that are in distress. His “apology” for the suffering citizens have endured accompanied by the absence of government support is synonymous with his regime’s continued lip service to everyone throughout this pandemic,” a statement from the United National Congress read.

It added: “We again heard nothing of the promised rapid test kits, and his only solution was to reopen a few businesses.”

On Saturday, Dr. Rowley accepted the frustration from those in sectors who remain closed or under limited operation, apologizing on behalf of his government.

“I know the time is coming and some people are feeling that they are carrying much more of the burden than the others,” the PM said, adding however that those who operate businesses in the most at risk sectors will have to bear the burden to avoid a massive explosion of cases.
