Machel Montano performed to a sold-out crowd at the Barclays Centre in New York last night, hosting Soca Kingdom in celebration of his 40 year career in music.

Montano shared the big night with other soca giants, including Superblue, Bunji Garlin, Fay-Ann Lyons, Nadia Batson, Patrice Roberts and Voice.

Wyclef Jean also made an appearance.

In a short note to fans this morning, Montano reflected: “Every Single seat sold and then some ! I can’t explain how this makes me feel , there just not enough words that could ever explain !!!! Thank you all”.

“Those from New York and all those who flew in , all Caribbean People and all the other countries that represented last night, the Soca lovers, my friends and family. The whole ah Kingdom came down !!!!!! I love you all , I thank you all for making this dream a reality! WE DID IT … no radio, no tv … we did it in ah real life !!!” Montano ended.
