Man Arrested, Charged For Producing Fake Covid-19 Immunization Cards

Terry Garib, an employee of the Unemployment Relief Programme, URP, appeared before a San Fernando Magistrate, charged with forging immunization cards to falsely include Covid-19 vaccination.

The 52 year was arrested and charged after security at the San Fernando General Hospital observed him distributing the fake cards, complete with an official Ministry of Health stamp, to people who allegedly hired him to do so.

The suspect was also reportedly found to be in possession of a stamp which bore the words “The Ministry of Health” and which originated from the Ste Madeleine Health Facility.

Garib appeared before Magistrate Armina Mohammed-Deonarinesingh on Thursday.

The accused was not called upon to plead as the charge was laid indictably by PC Jagroop of the San Fernando Police Station.

Garib, of Mt. Stewart Village, Princes Town, was placed on $150,000 bail and was ordered to surrender his passport as part of his bail conditions.

He will reappear before the San Fernando Magistrates’ Court on September14th.
