Man Charged With the Murder of Six Year Old Kylie Maloney

Twenty-five-year-old AARON LONDON, also known as ‘GANDO’ is expected to appear in the Sangre Grande Magistrates’ Court today, January 17, charged with the murder of six-year-old Kylie Maloney.

The charges were laid yesterday January 16 following the advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions, Mr. Roger Gaspard S.C. London, of Damarie Hill, Sangre Grande, was charged after homicide detectives conducted investigations into the circumstances surrounding Maloney’s death

According to a statement from the TTPS, he was also charged with three counts of Wounding with Intent, Possession of Firearm and Possession of Ammunition.

Senior Superintendent Rishi Singh of the Homicide Bureau of Investigation has also commended the officers involved in the investigation, which led to the breakthrough in the matter.

Snr. Supt. Singh added that the family and entire the entire community were traumatised by the incident, and he hopes that as perpetrators are brought before the courts, the family can get some sort of closure in this tragic situation.

Police records indicate that around 2:15 am on Sunday 8th January 2023, officers responded to a report of a shooting at Lp. 64 Blake Avenue, Sangre Grande. Enquiries revealed that around 2:05am that morning, four persons were asleep at their home when they were awakened by the sound of their dogs barking.

One occupant made checks by looking at his CCTV camera system and observed armed men, dressed in camouflage. Shortly thereafter, several loud explosions were heard.

On arrival, the officers observed Kylie Maloney and three other victims with gunshot injuries and conveyed them to the Sangre Grande Hospital. Kylie later succumbed to her injuries around 3:15am.

The investigation was supervised by ASP Douglas, Insp. Ramjag (Legal Officer) and Sgt. Radhaykissoon.

Little Maloney will be laid to rest tomorrow, January 18, at LP73, Quash Trace, Foster Road, Sangre Grande.
