A 39-year-old man has been granted bail in the sum of $100,000 with a surety after he was charged with Fraud. NADESH NANDLAL, of Williamsville appeared before Magistrate Armina Deonarinesingh, at the San Fernando Magistrates’ Court on 8th November.

He was charged with the offence of Obtaining Credit by Fraud in the sum of $93,250. He is expected to reappear in court on 6th December, 2022.

According to police reports, a man alleged that he supplied several loads of backfill material, valued at $110,150, between January, and February 2019, to a work site in San Fernando, at the request of Nandlal.

“The accused allegedly made a cash payment in the sum of $16,900, then issued six postdated cheques totaling $62,850, as further payment. However, when the cheques were deposited, they were returned “dishonoured”, and all efforts by the victim to recover the $62,850, and the additional outstanding balance of $30,400 proved futile.”

Investigations into the matter were conducted by officers of the San Fernando, Fraud Squad, who conducted inquiries and then arrested and charged the accused on November 8th 2022.

The exercise was supervised by Superintendent Ruben, and coordinated by Insp Seepersad, and W/Cpl Edwards. Charges were laid by WPC Roberts of the San Fernando Fraud
