A Curepe man became the country’s latest road fatality when his Nissan AD Wagon crashed into the back of a truck this morning, killing him almost instantly.

The accident took place at around 5 am, in the vicinity of the St. Augustine Private Hospital.

The deceased has been identified as 59 year old Pooran Coon Coon.

Fire officers were needed to use the ‘jaws of life’ tool to cut the wreckage to remove Coon Coon’s body. 

Police suspect that the 59-year-old may have fallen asleep while driving.
