Maraval Man Charged for Cultivation of Marijuana at Home

Police have arrested and charged a 37-year-old man for marijuana possession and cultivation after a joint exercise between Besson Street Police, Guard and Emergency Branch and Canine Unit in Maraval yesterday, November 6.

According to the TTPS, between 1 pm and 3 pm on Monday 6th November, officers carried out an intelligence-led operation in the St. Claire Police District, where PC Andrews executed a search warrant for arms and ammunition at a house in Boisserre, Maraval. When PC Andrews and other officers searched the premises, they discovered eight marijuana plants, lamps and other paraphernalia.

As the officers continued the search, they found two separate quantities of marijuana which weighed 124 grams. The officers arrested the man and he was taken to the Besson Street Police Station, along with the seized items.

This exercise was supervised by Snr Supt Alexander, Insp Forbes, Sgt Arthur and Cpl Praimdass.
