By Shirvan Williams

Thirty-eight-year-old CRYSTAL VIKKI pleaded not guilty earlier this week to five counts of fraudulent use of a bank card and two counts of larceny of $2,500, against a 66-year-old pensioner.

She was granted $65,000 bail with a surety. Vikki, of Nurse Street, Guayaguayare, Mayaro, pleaded not guilty when she appeared virtually before Master Shabaana Shah and the matter was transferred to the Mayaro Magistrates’ Court.

According to the TTPS, she was ordered not to communicate with the man and to report to her local police twice per week until her next appearance on May 16th, 2024.

The accused was arrested on April 14th and charged with the offences on April 15th by Cpl Joseph, of the Mayaro Criminal Investigations Department (CID).

According to an October 5th, 2023, police report, the man told police that he observed discrepancies in his bank account at a commercial bank. Mayaro CID launched further investigations into the report’s details and executed warrants at two commercial banks in Port-of-Spain where they obtained certain pivotal information.

The CID team subsequently received further investigative support from the Fraud Squad East Office, resulting in the charges against the woman.
