Medical team recognized for leading T&T’s Covid 19 response

The medical team that led this country’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic have been recognised for their invaluable contribution.

Dr. Roshan Parasram, Chief Medical Officer, was awarded the Order of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago (ORTT) for his stewardship of the health team during the COVID-19 pandemic.

On acceptance Dr Roshan Parasram said:

“We truly couldn’t have been here had it not been for the hard work, dedication to service and support of everyone at the MoH and by extension the yeoman service meted out by our 17000 Healthcare practitioners during the covid 19 pandemic.”

The other awards included:

Dr Maryam Abdool-Richards, Principal Medical Officer of Health (Institutions) – Chaconia Medal Gold

Dr Avery Hinds, Technical Director, Epidemiology Unit, MoH – Chaconia Medal Gold

Dr Michelle Trotman – Chaconia Medal Gold

Professor Christine Carrington – Chaconia Medal Gold
