Mervyn Dillon Removed From Pool Of Toco/Sangre Grande PNM Nominees

By Lillian Searles

The People’s National Movement has back-pedalled on its choice of the cricketer, Mervyn Dillon to contest the Toco/Sangre Grande seat in the upcoming general elections.

The PNM’s screening team last week selected Dillon for the candidacy, however, the constituency executive has now been asked to pool together more nominees.

After some complaints, the screening team reviewed the decision.  The outcome was to ask Toco/Sangre Grande to get more nominees, effectively revoking the choice of Dillon.

Though Toc/Sangre Grade presented 6 nominees, yesterday, party officials made it clear that not only Dillon, but all those who were screened for the seat in the first batch of nominees, were out.

Mervyn Dillon has been rejected as the PNM's choice for Toco/Sangre Grande.
