Introducing fun ways to establish the importance of magic words like ‘please’ and ‘thank you’ to children, Michelle Borel’s new Children’s Book, “Magic Words with Max” is all about remembering your manners.
This book carries children and their parents on a journey with Max, who shares the magic of the words ‘please’ and ‘thank you’ with readers, reminding children to always remember their manners, and the value in it for them being endless.
When asked about the inspiration for this book, Borel revealed that it came from her four children. She says that she aimed to write a book reflective of things she shares with her children that other families can benefit from and have fun with.
“If we want a better world, we’ve got to raise better children. Stories and rhymes are the best way to teach. I always believe in ‘it takes a village to raise a child.’ I see myself not just as a parent for my children, but for all. Also, it fills me with light-heartedness.” she said.
Even though this is her first children’s book, this is not Michelle’s first time publishing her writing. Her first work of poetry was published in 2002 in ‘The Book of Laughter & Forgetting’, another piece of her poetry ‘The International Who’s Who in Poetry’ was published in 2012 and her first solo project was a collection of poetry titled ‘Soulspection’ in 2016, which won the Bocas Lit Fest and Newsday’s ‘Book of the Year – People’s Choice’ in 2018.
In an exclusive interview with OJO World, she says her second and third poetry compilations, as well as three other children’s books, are completed, but not yet published. She has also been selected to contribute a chapter to a book titled ‘ONE’, which connects 17 motivational speakers from around the world who would have trained with either Les Brown, Tony Robbins, John Maxwell or Bob Proctor.
