Minister: Counselling Support For Family Of Three Perished In House Fire

By Newsroom

The Ministry of Social Development and Family Services on Friday visited the relatives of the mother and two sons who tragically perished in a house fire on Thursday morning.

Forty-eight-year-old Natasha Nancoo and her two children, Enrique and Adesh Nancoo, perished when a fire broke out at their home along the Toco Main Road at around 6:30.

According to a statement from the Ministry, the house was a rental property and the family only moved in a few months ago. Officers attached to both the National Family Services and the National Social Development Programme reached out and offered condolences to the mother and relatives of Ms Nancoo, as well as counselling and psychosocial support.

Meanwhile, police are investigating the fire as a possible arson attack, presumed to be linked to the death of Natasha’s common-law husband, Sherwin Bernard, was shot and killed in January.
